For the children

As I've been trying to figure out where the Lord wants me to be right now, one recurring theme is my concern for my children. I have still rather young kids: none are teens yet. And I've been oh-so-careful to not have them grow up as virtual heathens. That is, I've been concerned that there are visible, external differences between our home and the world around us. I don't want them growing up seeing "two Saturdays," for example.

One thing I've been trying to do is, maintain a Bible reading after dinner every night. That's a lot harder than it might seem, and I've only been moderately successful. Right now we're in Romans, and we've been discussing terms like "justification" and "salvation" with the kids.

Ames does a good job with the kids when I'm at work, too. They have a decent grounding in things like Bible stories, which matter.

It's difficult enough to figure out where and what we should be doing down here. It's that much worse with kids.

Momma's are essential to youngun's spiritual development. Just look at Eunice and Lois.

If it weren't for Stace' my chaps would be ruin't.
