Several years ago I was invited to a party at the home of a co-worker. At the end of it, he looked at me and said, "I'm glad you came." That was a very kind thing to say, the fact that I remember it after ten years attests to that.
Isaiah 53:11 is a sort of an "I'm glad you're here" verse. It's amazing to think that God looks on the results of Christ's atonement for us and is satisfied. Scripture is clear that God's opinion of us isn't very good, but it's also clear that His love for us is measureless. Here we are, lost and ruined sinners, and the eternal and holy God loves us.
He did terrible things to save us. And when He looks at us, He thinks those terrible things were worth it.

Sometimes the day seems long,
Our trials hard to bear.
We´re tempted to complain,
to murmur and despair.
But Christ will soon appear
to catch his bride away!
All tears forever over
in God’s eternal day!
CHORUS:
It will be worth it all
when we see Jesus!
Life’s trials will seem so small
when we see Christ.
One glimpse of his dear face,
all sorrow will erase.
So, bravely run the race
till we see Christ.

The old hymn says, It will be worth it all when we see Jesus. Isaiah tells of a day when Christ will see us -the great congregation - and will say, It was worth it all.
He is worth it all!
Follow Him!
MARANATHA!
I always mentally connect that verse with Hebrews 12:2 and 2:12-13:
“Jesus… who for *the joy that was set before him* endured the cross, despising the shame, and is set down at the right hand of the throne of God.”
“I will declare thy name unto my brethren, in the midst of the church will I sing praise unto thee. And again, I will put my trust in him. And again, Behold I and the children which God hath given me.”
It was not the priest's part but the offerer's to present the victim at the entrance of the tent of meeting, or at the brazen altar (ver. 3). It was he too who laid his hand on the head of the burnt offering (ver. 4). This signified identification by grace with the offering. The acceptance of the Holocaust was transferred to the offerer. As the Son emptied Himself to become not man only but a bondman, and, when so found, humbled Himself in obedience as far as death on a cross, God answered, not by reconciling and forgiving only but, by setting man in His person and through His work in His own glory. Only none share the blessedness but those who believe,

Glory to God!!!
Yes, indeed. Glory to God!!!
Sir, "Worthy is The Lamb", NOT US.
The following is from my personal journal:
. . . Rev 4v10-11, "... the elders lay their crowns down before His throne/cherubim, saying: You are worthy ... for You created all things and for Your pleasure/glory everything exists and were created", Romans 11v36 . The fake-Christ will corrupt people by FLATTERY (Dan 11v32) as he emphasizes to them about human potential/worth, their beauty and self-righteousness; but those who know their God will do exploits as they trample the Liar (spiritually) . Love didn't breathe into earthen vessels because of the value of DIRT but to display Love's infinite worth and power (2Cor 4v7, Gen 2v7). We didn't merit Eden; it's not about our worth. That self-base, transformed us from Eden's Adoption into fear, shame/guilt, painful labours and strife. Gen 11, humanity was seeking to make a name for itself. Romans 10v3, "ignoring the goodness of God, they sought to establish their own righteousness, they departed from His covering" . . .

You wrote that LOVE thinks of us: "those terrible things were worth it".
NO; creation, existence and all, is a display of His INFINITE Worth, not us.
Perhaps your imperfect communication is part of what i call: "The Deficient Human Language of Scripture". Human Language has LIMITATIONS in expressing the Spiritual.
2Cor 9v15, "Thanks be to God for His INDESCRIBABLE Gift".
Mark was saying that Christ went through terrible things (suffering and dying on the Cross).
Mark was not saying that we (Believers) are not terrible things.
Correction - I meant to say:
Mark was not saying that we (Believers) are terrible things...
Thanks, Susan. That's exactly what I meant.
Thanks for the clarification.
And i urge you to please look at my writings, especially regarding "The Deficient Human Language of Scripture".
Hebrews 9v19, the scrolls needed the SPRINKLING OF THE BLOOD from before the foundation of the world, before anything was created, the Loving Sacrifice was poured-out.
